Tautohetohe Whaipainga - Utilities Disputes (UDL) is seeking a Conciliator | Kaitakawaenga to join our friendly team (for 12 months fixed term)
Everyone needs water, gas and electricity. Join our diverse, collaborative, and dynamic team as we help people to resolve their disputes.
As a Conciliator, your role is to conduct a fair and independent investigation of a complaint. You’ll do this by gathering relevant information, ensuring both parties have an opportunity to present their views, and assessing the facts against applicable rules, law and industry standards.
Wherever possible, you will support the parties to resolve the dispute using recognised resolution techniques. Where resolution is not possible, you will be required to present to Utilities Disputes' Commissioner a written proposal for how the dispute should be resolved and what represents a fair and reasonable outcome.
We are looking for someone with strong analytical ability, sound judgement and excellent written communication skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing complex information, asking the right questions, remaining objective when faced with competing perspectives, assessing actions against standards and writing in plain language.
If you're a skilled investigator and communicator with a passion for helping consumers and sorting complaints, we want you to join our team as a Conciliator | Kaitakawaenga
Experience in a regulatory or complaints handling body would be highly valued, however we know no candidate will meet all the requirements listed. So, even if your experience looks a little different, if you think you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
